This is an excellent breakdown of a CTO’s first 60 days. Same is true for CMO's. The biggest mistake new leaders make is rushing into change without understanding the political and technical landscape.
This is a really insightful breakdown of what it takes to step into a CTO role. The transition from being an engineer to a leadership position definitely comes with its challenges. What do you think is the biggest mindset shift needed to succeed in that transition?
I'm not a tech guy so I don't understand a lot of the lingo but these steps and framework are spot on. This should be the process for any new hire coming into a role, especially with the mindset you mention at the beginning "you were hired for a reason"
Most of the jargon evolves about project management, and what we call "agile methodologies" (short iterations of 2-3 weeks to build small pieces of software and get immediate feedback vs. months long development cycles with a big release every year or so like it existed in the past).

Thank you Tyler.

A framework for anyone starting a position. I appreciate the expansive yet succinctness your process offers. Going to send to my sons.
Thank you Kathy ! I hope it's useful to them.
